OUR JOURNEY

From a university lab to the field, our technology is built on nearly 7 years of scientific

research and development. Our patented „UV-Fingerprint“ method was first tested

in cooperation with the Czech Police Presidium, paving the way for international pilots

to work with law enforcement agencies across the U.S.

What began as a research project has evolved into a mission-driven startup turning

cutting-edge chemistry into real-time forensic intelligence.

OUR MISSION

Redefining the Way We Detect.

At Lightly, we believe substance analysis shouldn’t end with a slow lab report. It should begin with actionable intelligence.

Our mission is to empower law enforcement, forensic teams, and public safety officers with technology that does more than just detect. We trace. We uncover. We

connect the dots between seemingly isolated cases, revealing larger trends and enabling agencies to act earlier and smarter.

Because detection is just step one. Linking and tracing is what wins the fight.

With our patented „UV-Fingerprint“ method, we’ve transformed a decade of scientific research into a real-time intelligence tool. What used to take months in a lab now takes minutes in the field, with the power to link related cases, map supply chains, and trigger faster, smarter decisions on the ground.

This is more than a tool. It’s the foundation of a global intelligence infrastructure designed to scale from drug enforcement to border security, healthcare, counterfeit prevention, and even space research.

Our Journey So Far

2016–2022

Deep-tech roots: 7 years of R&D

Our journey began in a research lab at Czech university, where was developed the patented “UV-Fingerprint” method enabling precise, light-based chemical identification for real-world use. We also visited the DEA and INTERPOL headquarters in Washington DC to explore federal deployment opportunities.

2023

Lightly is born

We spun out of academia and launched Lightly to transform drug enforcement through scalable, real-time forensic intelligence. We were part of our first innovation programs, including EIT Jumpstarter.
